[ltr]Several reports have spoken of Iran planning to build a new trade route, which runs through the territory of three countries, and then reaches the Mediterranean ports.[/ltr]
[ltr]The ambitious project aims to establish a permanent trade line for Iranian exports, through three Middle Eastern countries. To this end, it will create a rapid transport route that starts in Tehran through Iraq and Syria and ending with Lebanon and the Mediterranean, according to the newspaper "Al Quds Al Arabi".[/ltr]
[ltr]The newspaper said that the Iranian authorities have recently signed bilateral agreements with Damascus and Baghdad with the aim of establishing a fast transit route of 1,700 km. The new line is expected to be operational within a maximum of two years and will pass through the capitals of the three countries.[/ltr]
[ltr]The budget for the project has not yet been disclosed, but construction costs are expected to be covered within five years from the revenues of the new business line.[/ltr]
