A White House spokeswoman cites the Gospel in defense of Trump's policy toward immigrants

spokeswoman Sarah Sanders rejected criticism of US President Donald Trump over his policy of dispersing immigrant families, saying they were in line with what the Bible says. In a press conference, Sanders quoted the 13th chapter of the Epistle to the Romans as "the clear and wise direction of obedience to the laws of authority because the Lord authorized them to supervise the system."
Sanders stressed that the regulated legislative process is good in itself, "because it protects the weak and law-abiding."
Responding to a question from journalists about whether the Bible is morally classed as separating children from their mothers, Sanders said law enforcement was in full accordance with the Bible , adding that the idea was in the Bible.
In May, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the start of a policy of separating children of illegal immigrants at the border as part of a "zero-tolerance policy".
