The Security and Defense Committee on Wednesday revealed the reasons for tight security fees and heavy US air traffic around the US embassy in the Green Zone in central Baghdad.
A member of the committee, Iskandar and Tutt said in a statement to the information that "US forces inside the Green Zone have spread heavily and tightened security measures around the perimeter of the embassy in the Green Zone in the center of Baghdad, as well as heavy air traffic over the buildings."
He added that "the strict procedures inside and outside the embassy and the use of internal shelters came in anticipation of adverse reactions after the forces of the popular crowd to air bombing by the International Coalition in the border area with the Syrian border on Monday".
The security source had revealed on Wednesday, the tightening of security measures in the vicinity of the US embassy inside the Green Zone in downtown Baghdad, pointing to the presence of intensive movement of "reconnaissance".
