Iraqi-Chinese agreement to develop electronic payment services

Central Bank of Iraq, signed on Wednesday, with the company “Union International BV” China, signed an agreement to develop smart technologies for payments, and electronic payment services in Iraq.
“The signing process took place at the Bank’s headquarters in Baghdad, in the presence of officials from both sides,” the bank said in a statement.
“The signing came in the light of its strategy to develop electronic payment services and open the horizons of work and competition for international companies in the electronic payment sector.”
He explained that “the agreement also aims to develop this sector, and transfer the expertise owned by this company to the Iraqi market, thus contributing to facilitate the payment and transfer of funds.”
