Pompeo vows Tehran a 24-hour war The slogan "Big Satan" is a lie
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States would launch a Persian-language television channel around the clock, saying the slogan "The Great Satan", which has been circulating in Iran for 40 years, is a "lie" the Iranians are no longer prepared to hear.
"The US Broadcasting Board is taking new steps to help the Iranian people circumvent censorship on the Internet," Pompeo said. "The Council will launch a new 24-hour television channel in Persian, not only on television, but also in digital radio and social media "He said.
"The ordinary Iranians in Iran and all over the world, in this way, will be able to know that America stands with them," he said.
This talk of Pompeo, in which he strongly criticized Iran's internal and external policies, came as the approaching 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in the country approached.
"The Iranians have heard from their leaders for 40 years that the United States is the Great Satan," Pompeo said. We do not believe that the Iranians are still ready to listen to the false news. "
The developments came amid sharp tension in relations between Tehran and Washington, and Iranian President Hassan Rowhani and US President Donald Trump exchanged strong threats.
