The European Commission said in a press statement that the agreement shows the long-term participation of the European Union in establishing a legal framework for cooperation with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in areas that represent common interests such as democracy, human rights, economic affairs, trade, migration, security, energy, environment and many other fields.
She added that the agreement will provide mechanisms to strengthen relations of cooperation between [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] European [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Iraq, and represents another important step in the European Union's extensive efforts to support Iraq, stressing that the ratification of the Convention is further evidence of the desire of the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]European Union in strengthening its relationship with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] at this critical moment, after the defeat of the terrorist [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] last year, and in light of the important challenges to the stability and reconstruction of the future of the country.
