The unemployment rate in Iraq rose by the end of 2017 from 11% to 13%, according to the Iraqi Ministry of Planning.
"The institutions of the Iraqi state are in a state of inflation, and no longer has the ability to receive more workers, because the number of employees at the present time reached 4 million," said Ministry of Planning spokesman Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi.
The government spokesman put forward a solution, which lies in the establishment of a partnership with the private sector to provide jobs for the unemployed, which number about two million, and are in continuous increase.
