{International: Euphrates News} Deputy Secretary of Justice, Rod Rosenstein, denied a report that the latter discussed the activation of a constitutional article to isolate President Donald Trump.
The second-largest US legal official said the allegations were "inaccurate and unrealistic."
The New York Times reported, quoting unnamed sources, that Rosenstein had suggested secret tapping of Trump to detect chaos in the White House.
The comments are said to have been made after Trump dismissed FBI director James Coomy last year.
Komi oversaw the investigation, which was charged by his agency, over alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The New York Times reported that Rosenstein had discussed the appointment of members of the government to activate the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution, which provides for the dismissal of the president if he is deemed unfit for the post.
The newspaper said the deputy justice minister proposed tapping Trump to expose the turmoil and dysfunction in the White House.
The proposals came during meetings and dialogues held in May 2017 with officials at the Justice Department and the FBI, according to the newspaper.
The New York Times cited unnamed sources who were familiar with the events.
According to US media, the source of the allegations is the memoirs of the acting former director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, who was fired by Trump in March this year.
Maccabi's lawyer, Michael Bromwich, said his client "does not know how any of the media got those notes."
He added that the notes had been sent to the Special Adviser, who investigates the alleged Russian intervention in the 2016 elections and obstructed justice, and that another copy was sent to the FBI.
"The New York Times report is inaccurate and unrealistic," the deputy justice minister said in a statement.
"I will not make further comments on a report based on anonymous sources that are clearly biased against the Justice Department and are promoting their own agenda," he said.
"But let me be clear on this issue: based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis for activating the 25th Amendment," he said.
A media official at the Justice Department told the BBC that Rosenstein's comment on the president's secret record was a joke.
The source, who did not reveal his identity, said that "the statement was sarcastic and was not discussed with the intention of recording any talk to the president."
The spokesman did not respond directly to a question sent by e-mail on whether the 25th Amendment had been discussed during the meeting.
According to other US media, there was doubt that the US Deputy Attorney General would seriously suggest the removal of the president.
The activation of the twenty-fifth amendment of the US Constitution requires the approval of the majority of the Trump administration and Vice-President and the majority in the Senate and House of Representatives, now controlled by the President's Party.
The Washington Post also reported that Rosenstein's suspension of secret registration was not serious.
She added that the deputy justice minister was responding to Andrew McCabe's proposal that the Justice Department investigate the president.
According to the newspaper, Rosenstein retorted, "What do you want to do, Andy, tapping the president?"
The Washington Post also reported that someone involved in the meeting denied the possibility of activating the 25th Amendment.

Later, Rosenstein Robert Mueller appointed a special investigator to take charge of the investigation.
In July, the US Justice Department accused 12 Russian intelligence officers of pirating Democratic Party officials during the 2016 election
