BAGHDAD / The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan al-Kaabi, called on the Prime Minister in charge of forming the new government, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to be "firm and strong" to choose the new formation.
"A historic day in the life of the Iraqis is represented by the choice of the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Saleh, and the next Prime Minister, Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi," Al-Kaabi told a news conference after the inauguration of the two presidents.
Al-Kaabi added: "We hope Mr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi to be firm in the selection of his government."
