Shafaq News / The image of a member of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Ali Jaafar al-Alaq, sparked a controversy over the past two days between some Iraqis on Twitter, although it is taken from an old video of him.

But two Iraqi recruits have republished them, commenting on them, and being cynical.

The man appeared in his official office, in front of a small poster reading "Member of the Baghdad Provincial Council", while two pictures appeared, one of the Iranian guide Ali Khomeini, the other of the Iranian Revolutionary Leader Khomeini, as well as the appearance of a machine gun.

One of the commentators said: "The official office of Baghdad province member Ali Jaafar al-Alaq, a sniper rifle and a mirror and a Khamenei picture on his right, became the official image instead of the image of the president.

The Iraqis' comments came in criticism, to put a picture of foreign figures in an office of the Iraqi state, and some wondered "Is not this the biggest evidence of its dependence on Iran."

The re-examination of the old image of the relations came after his statements two days ago in which he criticized the provincial council elections.

It was considered that the session of the election of the governor of Baghdad, which was held on Wednesday, headed by a member of the Council is included in de-Baathification, noting that one third of the members of the Council are not present at the meeting.

Alaq said in a press statement that "the session of the election of the governor of Baghdad, chaired by a member of the Council Abbas al-Hamdani, a person covered by de-Baathification and the book to uproot it to the provincial council."

He added that "one third of the members of the Council are not present in the session in addition to the submission of members of the coalition of the rule of law request to be postponed and the approval of the President of the Council to postpone, but some members held the meeting in violation of the law and the Constitution."

He pointed out that the meeting in which the violation of legal and constitutional and that it will appeal to the Federal Court.

The provincial council of Baghdad was elected Fadhil al-Shuwaili governor of Baghdad, succeeding Atwan al-Atwani, who won the membership of the House of Representatives.
