MP Ali Nassif on Tuesday called for strict control of the border port of Sumar in Mandali, saying there were regular smuggling and corruption through the port.
"There is information about regular smuggling and corruption through Sommar port in Mandali, including banned substances that are not suitable for human consumption," Nassif said in a statement. "About 90 percent of customs transactions are for potatoes and salt," she said in a statement. "The Iranian government does not consider it a legal border entry, that is, we alone bear the consequences of all illegal substances that come from us."
Naseef stressed that "the government and the Ministry of Interior should strictly control this port in order to safeguard the safety of citizens and put an end to corruption," noting that "otherwise we hope that it will be closed because the damage that comes from it more than its benefits."
