(BAGHDAD: Al-Furat News) Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Bashir Khalil al-Haddad, on Friday, the importance of rapid government reforms and respond to the legitimate demands of the demonstrators in accordance with specific time limits and in line with the gravity of the stage and believes to overcome the crisis.
In a statement, al-Haddad said, "We have directed the Regiment to protect the House of Representatives to deal responsibly with civilians and protect them in accordance with the principles of human rights, in case the demonstrations reach the building of the Council and not confront them with violence."
"We also call on our children protesters to maintain the peaceful demonstration, and on public and private institutions and property."
