The Ministry of Electricity responded, on Wednesday, to reports of corruption cases with some contracts concluded by the ministry and recent appointments.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said that the doors of his ministry are “open to all, especially members of the House of Representatives and the media, to verify any information contained in this regarding the existence of corruption cases in some contracts concluded by the ministry and recent appointments.”
Al-Abadi added, "The Ministry, like other ministries, has a formation from the Prosecutor's Office that recently replaced the offices of general inspectors concerned with following up cases of corruption and verifying the information received."
He stated that his ministry "does not have any contract with any company regarding installing cooling systems for stations operating in Iraq and that what is reported in this regard is a shame of health." End 29 / A 43
