The Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission announced on Sunday that it foiled an attempt to disburse a twenty billion dinar loan in a mock transaction, stating that the guarantor of the loan is the head of the Babil Governorate Council.
"The staff of the Commission's investigation office in the governorate has set the original treatment for granting a loan in the amount of (20,000,000,000) billion dinars at the Industrial Bank in Babylon for the benefit of one of the borrowers, for the purpose of establishing an industrial gas production plant," the authority said in a statement received / information /, a copy of it.
The statement added that "the transaction was fictitious, promoted by the son of the president of the Babylon Provincial Council after him as an agent of the borrower, while the guarantor of the loan was the president of the provincial council."
The commission emphasized, “Organizing a fundamental arrest record of the seizures in the process that was carried out according to a judicial arrest warrant, and presented it to Mr. Judge of the Hilla Court of Inquiry, which specializes in integrity issues, who decided to stop the disbursement of the loan until the completion of the investigation.” Ended / 25
