Al-Safi said in a press conference followed by Alsumaria News, "The health status of Mr. Sistani has improved and is currently recovering."
He added, "The surgery was successful and Mr. Sistani's health is stable."
Al-Safi explained, "Mr. Al-Sistani was fully aware during the operation and there was no general anesthesia. The medical team was satisfied with topical anesthesia only."
