The "Saeron" coalition affirmed that political blocs are pressuring Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Allawi to accept their candidates for ministries and proposing dissolving parliament as a pressure card.
The leader of the coalition, Talaat Karim, said in a press statement: "Some Sunni and Kurdish blocs demanded Muhammad Allawi directly choose their candidates for the ministries, and they will not be satisfied with the waiver of the electoral merit, and therefore they want to return to the party quota system."
And between: "The political blocs see Muhammad Allawi came with their agreement, and therefore will not be satisfied unless by guaranteeing their share of the ministries." He pointed out: "The issue of collecting signatures to dissolve parliament before the vote on the ministerial cabinet does not exceed the political pressure on Allawi."
He explained: "Muhammad Allawi has not yet presented the names of his cabinet, or part of it, to the political blocs to discuss them, and therefore it is difficult to pass them in Parliament in the current situation."
