Deputy of the Construction Alliance, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, ruled out an extension of the caretaker government headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi, stressing that the political blocs went ahead to choose the alternative candidate after Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi’s apology.
Al-Fatlawi said, “The political blocs have not yet put forward the names nominated for prime minister, and everything that is circulated in some media is incorrect.” Pointing out that the President of the Republic is determined to assign a new person during the constitutional period of 15 days.
He added: The current situation pressures everyone, especially the delay in approving the budget and preparing for early elections, which requires the speedy naming of a new prime minister. Likely to settle the file during the next few days.
He stressed the necessity: The candidate must be a politician, but he is independent and not partisan to run the country in the next stage.
