US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker commented on security developments in Iraq.
Schenker said in a statement, that the United States cannot tolerate threats to Americans from men and women serving abroad, indicating that Washington will not hesitate to take measures when it sees a need for this to preserve the safety of its employees.
He stressed that the only major problem in Iraq is the Iranian-backed militias that undermine stability there by attacking the interests of the United States and working outside the government, indicating that these groups continue to launch missiles at the US embassy and attack Americans and other diplomats, and threaten law and order in Iraq in general. .
