Shafaq News / At the request of the Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, the high-ranking Kurdistan negotiating delegation visited, on Wednesday evening, the Iraqi parliament and met with the speaker, his two deputies, and heads of the relevant committees.
According to a statement issued after the meeting received by Shafaq News, Talabani clarified the contents of the meeting and said that the regional government is committed to the law of compensation for financial deficit and is ready to implement the consequences of it in accordance with this law, stressing that in return he demanded that the parliament be an assistant to the implementation of the law and the provision of rights and financial benefits For the Kurdistan Region.
The statement added that after Talabani’s statements, the attendees at the meeting presented their opinions and observations on the negotiations between the region and Baghdad.
The statement indicated that Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi announced for his part that the parliament supports a radical solution to the problems between Erbil and Baghdad, adding that the solution lies in the commitment of the regional and federal governments to the texts of laws.
