    On Thursday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee held the US embassy responsible for any security threat threatening the capital, Baghdad, after the White House’s statements.
    A member of the committee, Kata Al-Rikabi, said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency that "the US embassy and its forces present on Iraqi soil bear full responsibility after the White House statements regarding the right to respond to any attacks that may be exposed to them in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ."
    He added, "Embassies and diplomatic attaches are found for diplomatic relations and exchange and not a place to threaten the security of the countries and cities in which they are located."
    He noted that, "Parliament has more than once confirmed that the attacks on the Green Zone and diplomatic representations come from outside, and there is no connection to an Iraqi party, neither from separatism nor the forces loyal to it, but rather an attempt to mix papers and increase tension in the capital."
