Kuwait donated nine million five hundred thousand dollars to UN humanitarian agencies and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to respond to the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Iraq.
Valerie Amos welcomed the coordinated UN emergency relief in her remarks on this occasion to contribute to Kuwait, noting that it will help the humanitarian community in Iraq to extend relief efforts to support displaced families and host communities.
Kuwaiti donation comes after Saudi Arabia announced earlier last week for a donation of five hundred million dollars to United Nations humanitarian efforts in Iraq, where the estimated number of displaced since the beginning of this year in Iraq, one million and two hundred thousand people.
