Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf confirmed, Thursday, that Minister Fuad Hussein's agenda in Italy includes efforts to release frozen Iraqi funds.

Al-Sahhaf said in a statement received by "People" (May 6, 2021), "Work is underway to recover the Iraqi funds frozen in Italy since the time of the former regime, which amount to about (600) million euros."
He added, "We are working on diversifying Iraq's economic partnerships, and acquiring international support for investment, in confirmation of the great opportunities we have in various sectors."
