    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Trade announced that it had met with the Director General of the Department of Economic Relations, Adel Al-Masoudi, responsible for political, economic and press affairs at the German embassy in Baghdad, Julian Rooster.

    "The meeting dealt with developing economic and commercial relations and means of cooperation between the two countries in all fields," the director general said in a statement that Al Furat News Agency received a copy of today.
    Al-Masoudi added that during the meeting, it was also stressed the need for German companies to contribute to investment in all fields, especially with regard to building modern silos, as well as investment in the industrial and trade sectors due to the experience and reputation of German companies in the Iraqi market.
    He pointed out that "the issue of reactivating the joint committee between the two sides was also discussed, and it was agreed to convene it as soon as possible."
    For his part, the German delegation affirmed that the investment climate in Iraq has become more attractive to companies and the German investor, as we have continuous contact with the National Investment Commission in Iraq, as well as to raise the most important problems facing trade between the two countries at this time, especially goods and medical equipment that face difficulties in the procedures of Iraqi ports. Hoping that it would take into consideration its solution, as the Director General promised to transfer these problems to the concerned authorities for the purpose of resolving them quickly, as Iraq is interested in economic relations with Germany.
