Election Commission promised, on Monday, that some candidates will launch their electoral campaign early, which is not a violation, due to the fact that the names of the nominated candidates for the elections have not been officially approved by the Board of Commissioners until now.
The official spokesperson for the Commission, Jumana Al-Ghalai, said in a radio interview followed by Mawazine News that, "The election law has set the official date for the start of the electoral campaign after the formal approval of the candidates. Ads, posters, how to remove them, and the fines to be taken in this regard.
And she added, "The candidate is officially considered a candidate immediately after announcing the authentication of the names in a fundamental way, and giving them their numbers by lottery, then the commission can hold them accountable for the electoral campaigning mechanism that usually lasts for two months and monitoring violations."
