    • Baghdad - IQ

A member of the Parliamentary Labor and Social Affairs Committee, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, expected, on Monday (June 7, 2021), to pass the draft social security law before the end of the current parliamentary session, stressing that it is "one of the most important laws that the Iraqi street awaits."
Al-Fatlawi told  IQ NWES that "the draft social security law is one of the most important laws that the Iraqi street awaits, and we must proceed with its legislation," stressing that "the parliament's presidency is determined to put it to a vote once its discussion is completed."
And he indicated that "legislation of the law will raise the ceiling of the salary or wages received by workers in the private sector and improve the conditions of workers in all projects," adding that "the bill will be legislated before the end of the current parliamentary session because of its importance."
And the House of Representatives, in its session held on Saturday last week, completed a report and discussion (second reading) of the draft Social Security and Retirement Law for Workers, which is considered one of the important laws that affects a large segment of the Iraqi people.
