    {Local: Al Furat News} The Commission’s Investigation Department announced the seizure of cases of waste of public money, fraud and embezzlement in a number of Wasit governorate departments, indicating that the implementation of the seizure operations included the Kut Municipality, the Directorate of Nationality, Civil Status, Passports and Residence, the Sewerage Directorate and the General Authority for Taxes.
     
    The department confirmed in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "the Wasit Investigation Office team revealed that it had seized the files of the northern and southern fruits and vegetables in Kut, which indicate that the Kut Municipality - Tenancy Division did not collect the rents and profession fees owed by the tenants of the two above. Despite the expiry of the specified period for the payment of premiums, which led to a waste of public money, pointing out that the amounts owed by them amounted to more than (4,250,000,000) billion dinars. 
     
    In a second operation, the team that moved to the Directorate of Nationality, Civil Status, Passports and Residence confirmed the existence of cases of fraud and embezzlement in the 2017 revenues received in the Directorate in an amount of approximately (340,000,000) million dinars, and was able to seize the original (41) accounting receipts for the collection of sovereign fees. The fees for services for the year 2017, two records for controlling the movement of documents, and (16) revenue schedules approved by the governorate treasury, as well as the administrative orders for the accounts manager and the treasurer in the directorate.
    In another operation, the team seized (11) gas oil cut-off forms in the Sewerage Directorate, due to an increase in the actual amount of gas oil in the tank compared to the supplied amount, with a difference of (22,761) liters.
    In another process, the team moved to the branch of the General Authority for Taxes in the governorate, and revealed the presence of irregularities in the files of the owner of a company, represented by the absence of a tax stamp in the assessment notes; For the purpose of not deducting the amounts owed by the taxpayer and allowing them to evade tax, as well as granting the taxpayer a clearance; Although he did not submit final accounts for the years (2018-2021).
