Today, Saturday, Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world, revealed the contents of what was discussed during two separate meetings that brought together a delegation headed by the Archbishops of the Chaldean Catholic Church with the Presidents of the Republic Barham Salih and Ministers Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
Sako said, "Our visits to the Presidents of the Republic and the ministers came to support their efforts to strengthen the building of the state of law and citizenship, restore reconciliation, and the reform movement. We did not have special messages or demands."
He added that "the two visits touched on 4 demands and files related to all Iraqis, including providing services first, reforming laws second, leading the country, and finally creating a suitable environment for elections to produce a loyal and honest government that builds Iraq," noting that "the two visits did not touch on the specifics of the Christian component, but rather all components." .
Speaking about the meeting with the Prime Minister, he continued, "We evaluated Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's calm method of conducting dialogue without militarization or resorting to weapons," noting that "the language of dialogue solves problems and generates hopes that there will be a healthy and unified Iraq to become a strong and advanced country."
He stressed that "all components must be in one trench to build a stable and sovereign Iraq," noting that "the families that immigrated, whether Christians or other talents, must be encouraged through government incentives to ensure their return to Iraq."
He stressed that "there is no difference between Christians and their rights and non-Christians from the rest of the other Iraqis," noting that "Christians are part of this fabric, they had more pressure, but in the end they are citizens.
