    Tomorrow, Monday, Iraq is scheduled to discuss its second report on the Arab Charter on Human Rights at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, with the participation of a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government.

    Iraq will participate in the meetings to discuss its report, which will be launched on February 14 and 15, with a large delegation of diverse competencies from various ministries, and representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government headed by the Administrative and Financial Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Burhan Muzhir Muhammad.
     A source in the Arab Human Rights Committee, “the Charter Committee,” said that the meetings will witness an interactive dialogue that will last for two days, to discuss the commitments that have been implemented towards various human rights issues in Iraq, noting that the discussions will adopt the report written by Iraqi specialists from various ministries.
    He added that the holding of such meetings came after Iraq joined the "Arab Charter on Human Rights," noting that the committee that will discuss Iraq's report is made up of seven experts from various Arab countries headed by Counselor Jaber Al-Marri.

    The source added that it is hoped that the discussions will come up with concluding recommendations on human rights concerns
    in Iraq.
    Regarding the Kurdistan Region’s role in such meetings, the coordinator of international recommendations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dindar Zebari, stated in a statement that the importance of this participation lies in the fact that it relates to the commitments of the Kurdistan Regional Government to the special principles of the Arab Charter on Human Rights, indicating that his government has taken fruitful steps in this aspect. Including the preparation of a human rights plan with the participation of all institutions of the region, in addition to United Nations agencies and community organizations
