Shafaq News/ The leadership of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, saw on Saturday that Russia's recovery of Ukraine will pave the way for Iraq to restore the stolen lands, in a clear reference to the State of Kuwait.
This statement comes a day after the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad denounced the tweets of the Iraqi politician and cleric Ayad Jamal Al-Din, in which he called for the return of Kuwait to Iraq.
Nassif said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The victories achieved by the Iraqi armed forces of all kinds against the terrorist organization ISIS make Iraq eligible in the future to restore the lands stolen from it, similar to what Russia did during its invasion of Ukraine."
She explained, "Although we are against the culture of wars, regardless of their causes and motives, if Russia restores Ukraine, it will pave the way for the rest of the countries to restore the lands stolen from it, including Iraq, which has been wracked by bad conditions and caused some traitors and bribes to lose its rights and lands."
Nassif indicated, "The current data indicate that the Iraqi armed forces have become strong and able to face challenges after achieving victories over ISIS terrorism within a record period, and therefore we do not rule out that Iraq will regain its rights and stolen lands as a legitimate right."
The politician and cleric Iyad Jamal Al-Din had said in a tweet to him on the social networking sites "Twitter", "Russia's recovery of Ukraine ... opens the door to hope for the restoration of cartoonish countries such as Kuwait and Taiwan."
The Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad responded to Jamal Al-Din's tweets and said that these tweets "carry unacceptable and reprehensible expressions."
She added that "while it expresses its deep dissatisfaction with such actions aimed at undermining the brotherly relations that bind the two countries, it calls on the concerned Iraqi authorities to curb these dissonant voices by taking legal measures against them."
