Shafaq News / The Sovereignty Alliance, headed by Khamis al-Khanjar, began collecting parliamentary signatures on Saturday to approve the general amnesty law.
A parliamentary source told Shafaq News Agency, "The Sovereignty Alliance began collecting signatures for this purpose," while the House of Representatives held its regular session headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi and attended by 238 deputies.
The Sovereignty Alliance led by al-Khanjar and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi has been working for some time to pass a general amnesty law to expel thousands of innocent people, "most of them from liberated areas", who have been imprisoned, based on malicious incitement and a secret informant, according to them.
