    For her part, Iraqi parliamentarian Alia Nassif said in a press statement, "The Ministry of Finance and the Customs Authority, in conjunction with the Integrity Commission, succeeded in collecting an important part of the debts owed by customs clearance companies since 2013, which is (2,230,765,000) Iraqi dinars during the period from (1 12/2021 until 2/28/2022, after the General Authority of Customs issued a circular to all its directorates to stop the work of companies that owed back financial dues unless they came with a clearance from the General Authority for Taxes and the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions and Services.
    Last month, the General Authority of Customs issued a circular to implement Resolution 72 of 2022, which includes "zeroing customs duties for basic food and consumer goods and building materials in order to support the citizens' segment and the people's food, which affects their daily lives to meet the challenges of high prices.
