Shafaq News/ The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, denied on Friday what some are promoting about the latter's intervention in dropping charges against a sheikh of the Dulaim tribe Ali Hatem al-Suleiman.
The director of Al-Maliki's office, Hisham Al-Rikabi, told Shafaq News Agency, "Some parties are trying to mislead public opinion by marketing the issue of dropping the charges against (Al-Suleiman) and preceded by (Rafee Al-Issawi) and raising the street around others on the grounds that they had a role in the sit-in squares," pointing to "The parties that raised these issues are rivals to those in the Sunni arena."
He explained, "The promoters or those who caused such issues threw the ball in the arena of the most prominent political leaders, which is (Al-Maliki), but the reality is otherwise, so how can the leader of the state of law interfere in such issues? Does he have an executive position in the government that enables him to issue such amnesty decisions?"
Al-Rikabi added that "Al-Maliki does not have any position or position in the judiciary," adding that "the issue is limited to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the judiciary, as they are the authorities responsible for implementing the procedures that enable the aforementioned to come to Baghdad and provide protection and entry to resolve their cases." .
Al-Rikabi pointed out that "Al-Maliki is not the only one accused of facilitating the procedures for the return of (Al-Issawi and Suleiman), as the accusations also targeted the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri," asking: "Why (Al-Maliki and Al-Amiri) at this particular time?"
The news of the return of the wanted Iraqi judiciary, Ali Hatem Al-Sulaiman, to Baghdad, sparked widespread controversy among popular circles in general, and the Anbari community in particular, because he is one of the sheikhs of the Dulaim tribe in the city of Ramadi.
