On Sunday, a member of the Security and Defense Committee, Mahdi Taqi Al-Amerli, criticized Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi for not taking any position regarding Turkish attacks on Iraqi sovereignty, accusing the central and regional governments of colluding with Turkey.

Al-Amerli said in an interview with the Information Agency, "The committee will not allow Turkey to launch its military operations towards Iraqi lands, and we will raise the Iraqi flag inside the security-soft areas, and we will not allow any Turkish aggression."
He added, "The Turkish incursion continues, and unfortunately, we did not see a statement by Al-Kazemi, in addition to the weak position of the regional government, and this makes us think of a joint complicity with the Turkish."
He stressed, "The Al-Kazemi government must take a decision in this regard in order for us to know its position on the Turkish violation," noting that "Iraq is the master of the region, and we are not weak, and we must treat Turkey in the same way."
