The Iraqi parliament invites the heads of the blocs to a meeting on Monday
Shafaq News/ The Iraqi parliament called, on Saturday, the heads of political blocs to a meeting next Monday, but it did not specify its nature.
The Council's media department said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The Presidency of the House of Representatives invites the heads of political blocs to a meeting on Monday, July 18, at 11 am."
The coordinating framework, which includes all Shiite forces except for the Sadrist movement, had called yesterday, Friday, for the Iraqi parliament to convene this week and elect a President of the Republic in preparation for the formation of the next federal government.
Sources from within the coordination framework revealed, today, Saturday, some details of their meeting yesterday at the home of the leader of the Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, which indicated a split between the Shiite political forces within the framework regarding the nomination of the leader of the Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, for himself for the position of Prime Minister of the next Iraqi government.
