Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced a “four-way” agreement to export agricultural and animal products to three Arab countries.
Agriculture Minister Muhammad al-Khafaji said, in a press statement, on the sidelines of a four-way meeting of Arab agriculture ministers that was held in Amman, and was followed by the National News Center, stressing that “an agreement has been obtained to export the surplus of Iraqi domestic production of agricultural and animal products to Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.” .
The Iraqi minister stressed, “reducing customs duties,” explaining “the importance of agreeing to establish a transport company between the four countries, which will reduce the costs of agricultural and animal products by about 30%.”
Al-Khafaji pointed out that "Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in a number of agricultural products, including dates and poultry," noting that "there is a shortage of some other products, especially raw materials."
