KDP representative: Al-Kazemi’s government failed miserably to implement the Sinjar Agreement, and we will sue it
Shafaq News/ The representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahma Khalil, launched a sharp attack on the government of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on Monday, saying that it had failed miserably to implement the Sinjar Agreement, vowing to sue it.
Khalil said in a press conference held at the parliament building with the participation of party deputies and attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent, that "the conditions of Sinjar are tragic, and Al-Kazemi's government has failed miserably to implement the Sinjar Agreement," explaining that "among the terms of the agreement is the employment of 2,500 security personnel from the people of Sinjar to replace the forces. irregular and illegal.
"We will sue the government for not implementing the terms of the agreement," he added. Khalil attacked the Al-Kazemi government, and said that "it is shameful for it to see the displaced people sleeping in tents and in tragic conditions, without services, no security, and the displaced people do not return to their homes."
Khalil pointed out that "there is an illegal administration in Sinjar district by the Kurdistan Workers' Party, and the people of the district reject it."
He continued, "We are deputies in the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc and representatives of Sinjar and the Kurdistan Regional Government, we are trying to implement the agreement, but to no avail because of the obstacles placed by the Workers' Party and its supporters in Sinjar."
On October 9, 2020, the Baghdad government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi signed, with the Kurdistan Regional Government, an agreement to normalize the administrative, political and security situation in Sinjar and maintain security in Sinjar by the federal security forces, in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Forces, to expel illegal armed groups out of court.
The agreement also stipulated ending the presence of the PKK organization in Sinjar, canceling any role of entities associated with it in the area, ensuring the return of displaced families to their areas and providing a safe environment for their peaceful living.
