    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The investigation team of (Baghdad Today) Agency revealed, on Wednesday, details of an investing company appropriating the funds of three ministries through its work in the ports of Basra Governorate.
According to the documents obtained by the agency, the Basra Ports Company paid a fine for its violation of the contractual terms in favor of the Al-Abd Company, which invested in Pier 11, which is specialized in sugar and belongs to the Ministry of Industry and minerals.
According to the documents, Basra Ports paid a fine of about 46 billion dinars to Al-Abd Company as a result of the port's failure to comply with the penal contract terms.
In the context, sources from within the General Company for Iraqi Ports explained that "the amounts paid represent a resounding loss for the port company," stressing that "the current director of ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, paid the sums in two installments and without asking the Al-Abd company for settlement, as is the case within the known contexts.”
The sources confirmed that "the company itself, in the same manner, had obtained compensation from the Ministry of Agriculture estimated at 21 million dollars, and also obtained compensation from the Ministry of Defense estimated at (18) million dollars, in a clear violation of state funds in these docks.”
And the sources called on the concerned authorities, via (Baghdad Today), to "conduct an extensive and comprehensive investigation to find out the nature of the contracts and the penal conditions set in the General Company for Iraqi Ports."
