Shafaq News / The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, congratulated, on Saturday, the Union of "Kurdistan Students" on the 70th anniversary of its founding.
President Nechirvan Barzani said, in a statement received by Shafaq News agency: "I congratulate you and all members of your struggling union and Kurdistan students in general on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Students Union."
The head of the region expressed his hopes that this occasion would be a stronger motive to "strengthen the organizational struggle more for the rights and goals of Kurdistan students."
He pointed out that "the Kurdistan Students Union has a history full of sovereignty, and it was a national school for the formation of many prominent leaders and fighters from the people of Kurdistan who played an important role in the liberation movement, and presented many heroic martyrs for the people and the country."
Nechirvan Barzani continued: "Your Union, in addition to shouldering the responsibility of defending the rights of students, improving their scientific capabilities and developing their talents in line with the rapid development of the era of science and education, it also bears the responsibility of raising the conscious individual and the loyal staff to serve the country and society and to promote the principles of tolerance, unity, compatibility and the preservation of coexistence and peace."
