The Ministry of Commerce revealed a project to establish the Iraq Stock Exchange platform to display the prices of food and construction materials to limit their rise, and is also working on implementing the national project to produce zero flour in cooperation with the private sector.
The director of the private sector development department in the ministry, Muhammad Hanoun, said that the department is working to implement the paragraphs of the government program, including the launch of the Iraq Stock Exchange platform on the Internet, which includes the prices of food and construction materials for the purpose of limiting the rise in their prices in the local market and becomes the open market window for supply and demand.
He pointed out that the government is working to support the private sector of meat and poultry producers, while providing large quantities of basic foodstuffs at discounted prices in the local markets in support of the national effort.
Hanoun pointed out that the ministry has formed specialized committees to study the requests submitted by mill owners to the competent departments and institutions to implement the national project to produce zero-commercial flour by operating mills affiliated with the private sector, achieving the required quality of the product, processing it and offering it to bakeries, ovens and local markets at competitive prices, which leads to market stability and strengthening. and that the project aims to compete with the types of imported flour offered in the market, pointing to the arrival of two ships loaded with approximately 96 thousand tons of the American and Australian wheat crop to the port of Umm Qasr, which will be distributed within the plan prepared by the ministry according to the need of each governorate.
