The economist, Safwan Qusay, explained that Iraq did not fall within the policy of the Russian-European axes regarding oil and gas exports, pointing out that Moscow will have to reduce crude prices towards Asian countries, especially India and China, after the European ban on its exports.
Qusai said in a press interview seen by “Takadam” that “Russia’s share in the European Union will decrease in terms of crude oil and gas exports, as the alternatives to buying gas by the union will be through Algeria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.”
He added, "Iraq will not enter into the policy of axes, especially since it is not against exporting gas to the European Union, but there is a decision that prevents the purchase of Russian gas and oil, as Moscow will be forced to reduce crude prices towards Asian countries, especially China and India, which requires Iraq to think of alternatives to export gas and oil and the European Union." It is one of the catalysts for growth, especially since it needs energy.”
And he indicated that "Iraq is not against Russian gas and oil, but rather it seeks to preserve its resources by heading towards the continent of Europe to export oil and gas.
