An expert in local security affairs in Diyala, Fares al-Dulaimi, confirmed, on Saturday, that influential parties in Kurdistan have lost billions of dinars after closing smuggling routes in Diyala.
Al-Dulaimi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The imposition of law plan ordered by Al-Sudani succeeded within a week in stopping the most important and dangerous smuggling routes in Iraq, extending from Kurdistan to Baghdad via Diyala, which used to generate billions of dinars in the pockets of influential parties in the region."
He added, "50% of the smuggling routes from Kurdistan to Baghdad come through Diyala and its closure is the cause of great material losses for influential networks, pointing out that smuggling is the most dangerous file dealt with by the imposition of law plan in the province by cutting off all the land routes that were used to pass convoys loaded with materials." contraband".
