Kirkuk governorate completed 781 projects in various service sectors during the period from 2017 to 2023, at a time when a plan was prepared to recycle the wheel of stalled and lagging service projects and include them within the food security law. Marwan al-Ani, the government media and communication official in the governorate, told Al-Sabah that the governorate implemented a package of projects during the previous years, amounting to 781 various service projects in the sectors of health, education, electricity, water, municipality, cladding, rehabilitation, construction of roads, development of residential neighborhoods, development of government institutions, and development of districts and sub-districts. It was developed within the annual plans of the governorate and distributed among the regions according to the service needs.
He pointed to the direction of the Kirkuk governorate to implement a new package of service projects to complete the series of projects implemented in previous years, especially those related to the aspects of the daily life of citizens within the food security law and with follow-up from the oversight authorities according to the time limit and specifications imposed in the contract and intensifying efforts to eliminate conflicts facing businesses. He added that measures have been taken to avoid technical conflicts and complete projects in accordance with the specified time limits, noting that among the projects approved within the Food Security Law are 50 projects for school buildings with modern specifications.
He pointed out that the governorate stresses in its procedures through its supervisory committees the implementation specifications by holding the executing companies accountable and the engineers and technicians accountable, and imposing deterrent measures on the company that violates the terms of the contract implementation.
