Tomorrow, Sunday, a Kurdish delegation will visit the capital, Baghdad, to meet with the leaders of the State Administration Alliance. The delegation includes high-ranking political figures in the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
An official source in the party confirmed to "Baghdad Today", Saturday (August 5, 2023), that "a high-level delegation from Barzani's party will visit Baghdad tomorrow, including Fadel Mirani, Hoshyar Zebari, and Pashtwan Sadiq, to meet with the leaders of the State Administration coalition." .
He added, "The visit will be for the purpose of conveying reproaches and criticism for not implementing the coalition paper to form the current government headed by Al-Sudani, including the delay in sending Kurdistan's salaries and dues."
The provinces of the region, especially Sulaymaniyah, are witnessing protests and a strike in several government departments due to the delay in the payment of salaries.
Employees have said more than once that what is happening in the region is nothing but the failure of the authorities to manage the affairs of citizens, describing them as inhumane practices, represented in depriving the salary or deliberately delaying its disbursement. At the same time, they demand the federal authority in Baghdad to use the constitutional solution to solve the problems of citizens in Territory.
Budget funds are frozen so far
The decision of the Federal Supreme Court to cancel all decisions related to transferring monthly funds to the Kurdistan region ignited the crisis between Erbil and Baghdad, which approved a financial budget for three years, but it has not been implemented until now, which cast a shadow on the economic situation in general and the Kurdistan region in particular.
