Today, Monday, Director General of the General Company for Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, set the completion rates in the Grand Al-Faw Port.
Al-Fartousi said, “The stages of work in Section No. 2 of Pier No. One in the Grand Al-Faw Port have been completed and have reached 100%, while Section No. 2 has reached completion rates exceeding 75%.”
He added, "The reinforcement of Section No. 2 is complete and is awaiting inspection and testing by the Italian consultant, and then the remaining parts will be cast. As for Section No. 3 in Pier No. 1, it has reached the almost final stages of reinforcement, and so have the rest of the sections, which are four."
He pointed out that "the completion rates exceeded 71% for the five berths project and 61% for the container yard."
He pointed out that "the entrance to the project is witnessing an experimental pouring of the pre-final layer of the first section of the highway. The tunnel project is proceeding at a very good pace, while work on the internal navigation channel has reached advanced stages, as planned, and the external navigation channel has also reached it." “The work is at good levels and will be higher at the end of this year after the entry of two rigs, one operating in the longitudinal section with high depths and the other at low depths.”
He continued, "There is clear government support and follow-up by the Minister of Transport, in addition to personal follow-up by the Prime Minister, to complete this project on the scheduled date or shorter than that."
