concluded the activities of the annual international health exhibition and conference in its third session, which lasted three days with the participation of 150 local, Arab and foreign companies.
The exhibition, which was organized by the Ministry of Health on the grounds of the Baghdad Fair, is the largest gathering at the health level in the country, as it paved the way for public and private sector companies to contribute in presenting their offers of medicines, supplies, devices, laboratory materials, medical and service equipment tools, and chemical materials that are involved in the manufacturing and preparation process. The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, told Al-Sabah: The goal of the exhibition is to attract specialists and manufacturers from local, Arab and foreign companies to provide support to the health system in Iraq, by establishing effective partnerships and cooperation between government institutions and the private sector, in addition to expanding investment opportunities for foreign companies. Strengthening partnerships for the purpose of reforming the health system and covering its needs.
He stated that the Ministry's pharmaceutical marketing company represents the backbone of health services provided to citizens, pointing out that the most important projects that the Ministry seeks to implement are the localization of the pharmaceutical industry, as we have provided many facilities in this regard with the aim of reaching a satisfactory health reality. In turn, the director of the General Company for Marketing Medicines and Medical Supplies in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Sami Abdel Sattar, told “Al-Sabah”: The company contributes to supporting the national economy by providing medicines and medical supplies, and emphasizing the follow-up of scarce and surplus medicines from the needs of some departments and activating transfers between them. .
He pointed out that the company is keen to keep pace with developments in the field of various pharmaceutical sciences and hold conferences and seminars through communication and interaction with reputable and leading international companies in the manufacture of medicines, devices, and medical and laboratory supplies.
He added that the exhibition provided a range of opportunities for those wishing to communicate between decision-makers, international companies, distributors, national factories, and healthcare specialists.
