Directives and orders issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani regarding the incident that occurred in the town of Makhmour, stopped attempts to stir up strife between the Iraqi federal army and the Peshmerga forces.
Directives were issued immediately after the accident occurred yesterday, Sunday, and were conveyed by the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, explaining that the Prime Minister followed up on the circumstances of the accident, within the Makhmour sector, which led to the occurrence of 3 victims and the injury of seven others from both sides near one of the points. the wish.
Rasool added, “Accordingly, Al-Sudani directed the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the circumstances of the incident and find out its merits, and the sacrifices that resulted from it,” stressing “all leaders and commanders at all levels of the need for self-restraint, whether from units of the federal government or the Peshmerga, and the importance of acting with great wisdom and giving priority to Higher interests, strengthening common interests, and depriving the enemies of Iraq of opportunity, which gave a message to the entire world about the unity of its proud people.”
On the other hand, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Peshmerga announced yesterday, Monday, its support for the statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to conduct a rapid and transparent investigation into the Makhmour incident.
She expressed deep sadness and sympathy with the families of the victims, declaring her commitment to working with the federal government for a radical and lasting solution that achieves security and stability throughout Iraq.
The Peshmerga expressed its support for what was stated in the statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to conduct a rapid and transparent investigation into the incident to determine its causes and find appropriate solutions to enhance security and stability in the region.
