    Today, Thursday (October 26, 2023), member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Waad Al-Qaddu, revealed a three-dimensional plan to end corruption in the security establishment in Iraq, especially “blackmailing the controls.”
    Al-Qaddu said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "Corruption in the security institution exists and takes on different dimensions, especially on land roads, in light of the presence of some controls that play blackmail roles against citizens," pointing out that "some of them were monitored and there were complaints, and some of them were identified directly."
    He added, "The Ministries of Interior and Defense have actually begun to adopt a three-pronged action plan to end corruption in their formations, the most prominent of which is reconsidering the system of controls on all land routes and seeking to reduce them, while reorganizing them according to the principle of model controls at the entrances to cities, in addition to addressing red tape at the entrances to cities." Centers, investigate complaints, and look into the causes of any violations or cases of weakness that lead to damage to security and the relationship with citizens,” pointing out that “it can be said that we are on the road to recovery, and the matter needs time in order to expose the corrupt officers and ranks and refer them for investigation because it represents a priority.”
    He pointed out that "any corruption in the security institution or abuse of position is dangerous and has dire consequences, and there is interaction by the Defense and Interior regarding any negative cases monitored in order to address them immediately," pointing out that "citizens' cooperation will shorten half the distance in directly uncovering deficiencies."
