    The Israeli army announced on Thursday that Nahal Infantry Brigade forces had captured a Hamas stronghold, known as Site No. 17, in western Jabalia after 10 hours of fighting.[/size]
    [size=45]The army added that the soldiers clashed with activists of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements in the stronghold, which led to the killing of dozens of them.[/size]
    [size=45]According to The Times of Israel, the army added that the forces found many weapons and uncovered tunnel passages, including a tunnel located next to a kindergarten that leads to a “wide underground road.”[/size]
    [size=45]The Israeli army added that the forces also found “important” Hamas battle plans at the site.[/size]
    [size=45]The Israeli army did not immediately provide information about losses among its ranks.
    Israel is bombarding Gaza in response to an attack launched by Hamas fighters across the border into southern Israel on October 7, during which they killed 1,400 people, most of them civilians, and took about 240 hostages, according to the Israeli count.[/size]
    [size=45]Palestinian health officials in Gaza said that more than 10,000 Palestinians, 40 percent of whom were children, were killed as a result of the continuous Israeli bombing of the Strip, which is home to 2.3 million people, since October 7.[/size]
