The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, confirmed that reaching a truce agreement with the Israeli occupation “is coming soon.”
Haniyeh said in a brief statement published on the Hamas platform on Telegram, at dawn on Tuesday: “The movement delivered its response to the brothers in Qatar and the mediators, and we are close to reaching a truce agreement,” without further details.
On Monday evening, the official in charge of the Hamas Martyrs, Prisoners and Wounded Office, Zaher Jabarin, said that Israel is “procrastinating” regarding the truce in the Gaza Strip.
Jabareen said in statements published on Hamas' official website that the movement "has determined a general framework for implementing any agreement, which is a ceasefire, and our condition for completing the truce and implementing it fully."
He continued: “Until now, the enemy is procrastinating regarding the truce,” explaining that Israel “violated its obligations with the mediators many times,” without giving details. End25
