    The Iraqi Jordanian Industrial Company, owned equally by the Jordanian and Iraqi governments, announced the resubmission of an invitation to attract a developer for the joint economic city project scheduled to be established on the border between the two countries.
    The company's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yanal Al-Baramawi, said that the bid was re-invited for the second time in light of the interest shown by international companies to enter the bid.
    Al-Baramawi said that this project came as a result of the summits that brought together His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Iraqi Prime Minister within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, as well as tripartite cooperation that includes Egypt.
    He added that the project will constitute a lever for economic cooperation between Jordan and Iraq, achieving integration in many fields, enhancing development efforts in the two countries, and contributing to reducing poverty and unemployment in them.
    He stated that the developer of the joint Iraqi-Jordanian economic city will prepare studies, designs and engineering plans, develop, finance, implement, manage, invest, promote and operate the economic city, in addition to sustaining and maintaining its elements and facilities.
    He pointed out that the applicant can obtain a copy of the bidding document, starting tomorrow morning, Monday, through the company’s headquarters in Baghdad or the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply/Jordan, and the deadline for submitting offers will be at exactly one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, corresponding to January 3. 2024.
    According to the tender, companies (Iraqi/Jordanian/or other nationalities) (and companies allied with them) are allowed to apply to participate in this tender, provided that a document is provided proving that it is a registered legal entity duly established under the laws of the country participating in the tender, and that it has all legal powers. required and the authority to enter into participation in such a tender, and a document proving that he has the financial ability to develop, implement, manage, operate, promote, market, maintain and sustain the economic city, and that he has the approved and valid official documents and papers, for example but not limited to (a commercial register that includes a description of the objectives of implementing and development of economic cities.
    The area of ​​the joint Iraqi-Jordanian economic city is (22) million square meters, and it is located in two parts. The first part is on the territory of the Republic of Iraq on the plot of land numbered (3078/Al-Rutba, District 1), the Trebil border crossing, while the second part is located on the territory of Jordan and on the two parts No. (7). +8) From the mother plot No. (6) from Basin No. (1) Al Karama Customs from the lands of the village of Al Karama Customs site.
    It is noteworthy that the city includes the industrial component, which aims to find developed land areas for investment in various industrial projects, the commercial component, which aims to find developed land areas for investment in various trade projects, and the logistical component, which aims to find developed land areas for investment in various storage, financial and business projects.
